Pop-Ups & Events

Where to Find Max.

Hand-sharpened blades, brought to your neighborhood. Catch the traveling whetstone at markets, pop-ups, restaurants, and local events across Buffalo and Western New York.

A note from the bench

A traveling sharpening bench for the people who actually use their knives.

Max’s Blade Sharpening is a one-person, mobile shop based in Buffalo. Bring dull, chipped, or unloved blades back to a clean, comfortable edge — chef’s knives, cleavers, scissors, garden shears, axes, and shop tools.

Instead of a storefront, the bench travels. Most weeks you’ll find Max at a rotating set of friendly local spots — a market, a pop-up, a restaurant, or a neighborhood event.

How it works

Bring the dull stuff. I’ll handle the edge.

1. Wrap your blades safely

Use a towel, cardboard sleeve, blade guard, knife roll, or anything that keeps the edge covered on the way in.

2. Check in at the table

I’ll look everything over, confirm what can be sharpened, give you a price, and estimate pickup time.

3. Shop, eat, or hang out

Most standard kitchen knives are finished while you enjoy the market or event. Specialty items may take longer.

4. Leave sharper

Pick up your tools, test the edge safely, and get a quick note on how to keep it cutting well between sharpenings.

Have a spot where people gather?

Bring Max’s Blade Sharpening to your market, brewery, coffee shop, restaurant, salon, apartment building, or neighborhood event. A sharpening pop-up gives people a useful reason to stop by, stay a while, and come back with sharper tools.

Good fit for farmers markets, breweries, coffee shops, restaurants, salons, groomers, and community events.

Easy setup with a small footprint.

Great for cooks, gardeners, stylists, groomers, and everyday households.
